Intel Arrow Lake processor core display exposure: desktop version with Xe-LPG, mobile version with Xe-LPG+architecture

Recent news has revealed that Intel is about to release the Arrow Lake-S desktop and Arrow Lake-H mobile CPU series, equipped with the new Alchemist Xe-LPG core iGPU architecture. Arrow Lake CPU is expected to be launched later this year as a direct successor to Meteor Lake and Raptor Lake on their respective platforms. The Arrow Lake-S CPU is mainly aimed at the desktop market and will replace the 13th/14th generation Raptor Lake series on the new LGA 1851 platform. The Arrow Lake-H CPU is specifically designed for mobile devices and will replace the Meteor Lake-H and Raptor Lake-H series. The Arrow Lake processor has undergone a comprehensive upgrade of CPU and GPU architecture. In terms of CPU, the P core adopts a brand new Lion Cove architecture, while the E core adopts Crestmont/Skymont E/LP-E cores. In terms of GPU, Alchemist Xe-LPG architecture is adopted, but mobile performance will be more advantageous.

From the current product line perspective, Intel has used 32 EUs on the 14th generation SKU and 96 EUs on the mobile SKU. Therefore, if Arrow Lake adopts a similar configuration, its performance may not reach the level of AMD RNDA 3 iGPU, but there will still be a significant improvement compared to the previous UHD 770 iGPU. Recently, Intel engineers have made adjustments to the C for Metal compiler, although it is currently unclear what improvements Xe-LPG+kernel graphics will bring.

According to leaked information, the Xe-LPG+version of the graphics processor has added the DPAS (Dot Product Accumulate Symmetric) algorithm architecture, which supports amplification and stacking of matrices. In addition, there are reports that the graphics architecture has added XMX hardware to accelerate XeSS support.
