Intel CEO: Even if NVIDIA and AMD enter, ARM's impact on PC remains "negligible"

Kissinger said,"ARM chips, like desktop systems aimed at replacing Windows, have been downgraded to a relatively insignificant role in the PC market.

IT Home previously reported from Reuters that artificial intelligence chip giant Nvidia has started designing a central processing unit (CPU) that can run Microsoft's Windows operating system and uses ARM's technology. Sources have revealed that AMD also plans to manufacture ARM based PC chips. These chips are expected to be launched around 2025.

Kissinger calmly responded to the reports of AMD and NVIDIA launching ARM compatible PC processors, stating that there are still a large number of issues with ARM PC chips, and Intel is not overly concerned at present. He also stated that he is fully prepared and can order ARM compatible processors from competitors if the company has a demand.

Kissinger said: We take all our competitors seriously, but starting from the company's development history, I don't think these ARM PC processors will sell well.

Microsoft recently released an estimated report that by 2027, the share of ARM architecture processors in the PC industry will increase from the current 14% to 25%, which should not be just described as "insignificant".

However, Kissinger stated that NVIDIA and AMD's interest in the PC field will further promote Intel's development in the PC market.

The CEO stated that Intel will also benefit from the prosperity of artificial intelligence. The client processor will be equipped with special units for hardware acceleration of such systems, and over 100 million processors with x86 compatible architecture and corresponding functions will be launched in the next two years.
