Intel Lunar Lake eight core CPU exposed to SiSoftware: 12 MB L3 cache, Xe ² Nuclear display

The SiSoftware Sandra database now features Samsung's next-generation Galaxy Book5 Pro laptop (model NT940XGK-DSD), equipped with the latest Intel Lunar Lake processor and integrated with Arc Battlemage "Xe2" iGPU.

According to the specifications, this Lunar Lake processor is an ES sample, recognized by SiSoftware as "genuine Intel (R) 0000 1.60GHz". This processor contains a total of 8 physical cores, which should include four P-cores (Lion Cove) and four E-cores (Skymont).

Due to the cancellation of SMT hyper threading feature in Intel's next-generation product line, this 8-core processor may only have 8 threads. The frequency of ES samples is 1.6-2.8 GHz, and it is expected that the frequency of the mass-produced version may be higher.

In addition, the processor is equipped with 12 MB of L3 cache, but it may increase to 24 MB of L3 cache. In contrast, the existing Meteor Lake-U has a 12 MB level 3 cache, while the Ultra 7 155H and Ultra 9 185H have a 24 MB level 3 cache. In addition, there is also 10 MB of L2 cache.

Intel Lunar Lake will adopt the next-generation Battlemage Xe2-LPG architecture for graphics, with 4 Xe cores or 64 EUs, for a total of 512 ALUs. The core display frequency is 1.85 GHz and is equipped with 8 MB of secondary cache.

The following are some features of Lunar Lake:

  • Specially designed for low-power lightweight laptops, with a designed power consumption of 17W
  • Lion Cove P-core+Skymont E-core
  • Battlemage Xe2 LPG graphics processor architecture
  • 4+4 kernel configuration (MX series)
  • Up to 64 EU
  • Encapsulating LPDDR5x memory
  • NPU performance is twice stronger than Meteor Lake
  • Released at the end of 2024, mass-produced and launched in 2025
