Intel Gaudi2C AI Accelerator Card Appears as Linux Driver, rumored to be a Chinese Special Edition

According to Phoronix, there is also a new version of the accelerator card approaching, and Intel has added support for Gaudi2C in its Linux driver.

At present, it is unclear the difference between Gaudi2C and Gaudi2. Reports suggest that it may be a "limited" variant and still a special product for the Chinese market. Foreign media outlet Tomshardware also indicated that it may be a simplified version of Gaudi2.

The Linux patch shows that the product is a Gaudi2 with PCI version ID "3" and follows the same driver code path as Gaudi2 and Gaudi2B versions.

According to Serve the Home, Intel announced the Gaudi3 accelerator card at the SC23 conference held in November. The report states that Gaudi3 adopts a 5nm process, with a bandwidth 1.5 times that of the previous generation Gaudi2 (7nm process), BF16 has a power 4 times that of it, and network computing power 2 times that of it.Intel plans to release Gaudi3 in 2024, equipped with up to 128GB of HBM3e RAM, significantly improving AI learning and training performance.
