Disclosure: Nvidia GB202 GPU may be equipped with 512bit 28Gbps GDDR7 graphics memory

Renowned informant Kopite7kimi has changed his view a few days ago and now believes that Nvidia's next generation flagship gaming GPU - GB202- will be equipped with a 512-bit bandwidth, indicating that it will be equipped with 28Gbps of GDDR7 graphics memory.

As early as 2023, Kopite7kimi mentioned the view that GB202 adopts a 512-bit memory bit width, and now it seems that he has received new evidence to support this view.

According to previous reports, Kopite7kimi pointed out that the first batch of GDDR7 graphics memory will use the lowest 16Gb capacity. This means that the complete GB202 will be equipped with 32GB of graphics memory, with a total bandwidth of 1792GB/s, which is nearly 80% higher than GA102.

In terms of the second flagship core, Kopite7kimi has also provided new insights, believing that the scale of GB203 will be half that of GB202.

Based on the current prediction of the size of the GB202 core, which is 192SM and 24576 CUDA cores, the GB203 will have 96SM and 12288 CUDA cores, and will also be equipped with the same 256-bit graphics memory bit width as the AD103.Kopite7kimi also pointed out that in terms of computing cards, the top-level GB100 core will adopt a multi chip package consisting of two GB102 cores, which is unlikely to be adopted in consumer grade products.
