Up to 288 cores, Intel's second-generation pure E-core Clearwater Forest Xeon processor

Intel plans to launch the first generation of pure E-core Sierra Forest Xeon processors by mid-2024, and the latest sources reveal that Intel will launch the second generation Clearwater Forest in 2025.It is reported that Intel's Clearwater Forest uses an optimized version of the Skymont core, which is estimated to be the same as the Lunar Lake and Panther Lake CPUs launched in 2025. Sierra Forest SP has a total of 144 cores and 288 threads, while it has been revealed that Clearwater Forest Xeon processors using the Skymont architecture can reach a maximum of 288 cores.

In addition, it is reported that the Clearwater Forest Xeon processor will significantly improve IPC and L3 cache, and adopt Intel 18A process nodes.
