Chinese Special Edition NVIDIA H20 AI Chip Delayed Release to Q1 Next Year: Rumors Reveal the Reasons Behind It

On November 24th, chip consulting company SemiAnalysis previously reported that Nvidia has developed the latest improved version of AI chips for the China region, including HGX H20, L20 PCIe, and L2 PCIe, which are more than 20% faster than H100 in LLM inference.

According to Reuters, two sources revealed that Nvidia has informed Chinese customers that the launch of the HGX H20 AI chip will be postponed to the first quarter of next year.

Sources say they have been informed that H20 has been delayed due to issues encountered by server manufacturers in integrating chips. Some of them said they were informed that it may be released in February or March.

Due to the confidential nature of the information, both sources refused to disclose their names. Nvidia declined to comment.

Except for H20, sources have stated that the L20 chip will not be delayed and will be launched according to the original plan. They are unable to share information about L2 status.

Semianalysis has released a paid article stating that Nvidia is about to launch HGX H20, L20 PCle, and L2 PCle interface chips, all of which are based on Nvidia H100 improvements. The official has already produced these GPU samples and is expected to enter mass production next month.
