Siemens Semiconductor Division, as the predecessor of Infineon Technology (China) Co., Ltd., officially entered the Chinese market in 1995. Since the establishment of its first enterprise in Wuxi in 1995, Infineon's business has achieved very rapid growth, with approximately 2000 employees in China, and has become an important driving force for Infineon's global business development. Infineon has established an industrial chain in China that covers research and development, production, sales, marketing, and technical support, and has conducted in-depth cooperation with domestic enterprises and universities in sales, technology research and development, talent cultivation, and other aspects.

In March 2018, Infineon and SAIC announced the establishment of a joint venture to manufacture power modules for China's vibrant electric vehicle market. The joint venture company is named "SAIC Infineon Automotive Power Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.", with its headquarters located in Shanghai and its production base located in the Infineon Wuxi factory expansion project.

Since entering China, Infineon has continuously adapted to the needs of customers and the market, developing and producing a series of products that can be applied to the local market. Infineon's advanced semiconductor solutions have been widely applied in various fields. At the same time, with our strong technical strength and global leading experience, we have conducted in-depth cooperation with leading domestic manufacturers such as ZTE, Huawei, Founder, and Weiqi, making our due contributions to the takeoff of China's electronics industry.

Infineon has established a complete industrial chain in China, including research and development, production, sales, marketing, and technical support. In terms of research and development, Infineon has established research and development centers in Shanghai and Xi'an, utilizing domestic talent resources to participate in global key project research; Our Houdao production factory in Wuxi produces advanced chip products for China and other global markets; In 2011, Infineon Integrated Circuit (Beijing) Co., Ltd. officially opened and established a manufacturing facility in Yizhuang Development Zone that focuses on IGBT modules for industries such as wind power and high-speed rail. Infineon China has established a comprehensive sales network in China centered around Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. At the same time, we have conducted in-depth cooperation with leading domestic enterprises and universities in sales, product OEM, technology research and development, and talent cultivation.

On April 16,2020, Infineon announced that it had completed the acquisition of Cypress Semiconductors with a total value of 9 billion euros (69.3 billion yuan), making Infineon one of the top ten semiconductor manufacturers in the world.

In China

Infineon's contracted investment in China has exceeded $1 billion, establishing a complete industrial chain covering research and development, production, sales market, technical support, and more. In terms of research and development, Infineon has established research and development centers in Shanghai and Xi'an, utilizing domestic talent resources to participate in global key project research; At Houdao production factories in Wuxi and Suzhou, we produce advanced chip products for China and other global markets; And has established a comprehensive sales network in China centered around Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. At the same time, we have conducted in-depth cooperation with leading domestic enterprises and universities in sales, product OEM, technology research and development, and talent cultivation, as well as production and manufacturing cooperation with leading electronic OEM enterprises such as SMIC International. By 2007, Infineon plans to increase its cumulative investment in China to $1.2 billion and grow to 3000 employees.

The company has collaborated with leading universities in China to establish laboratories for research and development in automotive electronics, smart cards, and other fields. The current projects include the Automotive Electronics Laboratory of Tongji University in Shanghai and the Internal Combustion Engine Laboratory of Tianjin University. The company allocates hundreds of thousands of yuan annually to establish scholarships at leading universities such as Fudan University, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, Tongji University, etc., to cultivate outstanding technical and management talents, and provide them with broad space to showcase their talents.
